In July 2024, violent protests began in Bangladesh. Although the violent clashes largely ended, the situation remained volatile with potential changes in politics and government.
The Canadian government placed a Travel Advisory in effect which essentially grounded the Canadian team that was scheduled to fly to Bangladesh.
After much discussion with our very capable overseas partners, The Rotary Club of Dhaka, the decision was made to proceed with the distribution “remotely,” with a team leader in Canada monitoring and overseeing the distribution.
This distribution is underway and we are very confident that at the end of a two-week time frame, 6000 children will have received their bedkits.
